Key Installation Final Piece 2012

These series of photographs are of my key instillation that I created for a final piece in April 2012. The idea was to create an old wardrobe with lots of keys hanging from the ceiling with a chained chest; the chest is to signify the idea of locking memories and unwanted thoughts away, the wardrobe is to give a sense of the time the chest has been there and the keys are to show a sense of desperation to keep the chest locked tight. 

 These photos where my thumbnail and experiments leading up to my final piece. I decided to use an old clock case to suspend my keys and used wire to connect them to the ceiling of the box. 

 These photos are of my final piece, completed and inspired by my thumbnail ideas. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this piece and can say I am also most pleased with the outcome.
